One Book per Semester: Africa Rising

The Library is supporting the College of Business and Management’s One Book per Semester (OBPS) during the spring 2010 semester. The Library has purchased a second copy of Africa Rising and placed it on two-hour reserve at the Library’s Circulation Desk that is located on the first floor. The copy is listed under the course MNGT OBPS.

There are two work study positions open in the Library currently. If you have a work study award, and can work during the daytime hours, please call x4460, or come to the Library Administration Office, LIB 119.

Congratulations, iPod Winners!

Over 500 Students, Faculty and Staff filled out our Library Survey last semsester and two of those were chosen at random to receive an iPod Nano as a prize. One of the winners, Cindy Sanchez, is a senior, majoring in hisotry and secondary education. Ms. Sanchez says she is in the library almost every day, and loves it. The other winner was Mustafa Dyara, a sophomore, majoring in biology. Having “never won anything before”, he was pleasantly suprised to find he had won his first iPod. Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to all of you who took the time to fill out our survey on the web.

One Book Per Semester

The Library is supporting the College of Business and Management’s One Book per Semester. One Book per Semester (OBPS) is an effort to engage business students and faculty in the reading and discussion of a common book during the fall 2009 semester.

The book is on two-hour reserve at the Library’s Circulation Desk. It is listed under the course MNGT OBPS.

Food for Fines, Nov. 16-17

As part of the Student Activities Office’s events to raise awareness related to hunger and homelessness in our community the Library will be waiving fines on Monday, November 16^th and Tuesday, November 17^th in exchange for a food donation that will go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

A donation of three food items (can goods and dry good items only please) will equal $5 waived off your fines. You may donate to completely waive all your fines or donate a portion of your fines owed.

Help out the Chicago community and clear your library account!
