This presentation, by Dr. Shirley Castelnuovo, NEIU Professor Emeritus, will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 7 PM in the Golden Eagles Room at Northeastern Illinois University. The talk is based on Dr. Castelnuovo’s new book, “Soldiers of Conscience: Japanese American Military Resisters in World War II”.
Joining Dr. Castelnuovo will be Sam Osaki, a representative from the Midwest Japanese American Citizens’ League, discussing the 20th Anniversary of the signing of the “Civil Liberties Act of 1988″, that provided an apology and monetary compensation to the 120,000 Japanese Americans Interned in 1942.
