Beginning in early October, 24/7 reference chat service will be available to NEIU students, faculty & staff. Librarians from NEIU are participating in a 24/7 reference service called AskAway, a new statewide cooperative reference service of Illinois libraries and beyond. AskAway can help you get a reliable answer from a professional librarian—anytime, day or night—right from the NEIU library’s website.
• Answers are relevant, in context, and from resources available at our library or from one of our library’s databases.
• Librarians can co-browse web pages and databases with you to help you find useful information.
• Your questions can be referred to local and national experts for further follow-up when appropriate.
• You receive transcripts of chat sessions in your emails to refer to later.
